About 20 miles east of Seattle, having left the city behind, you will find a gem of a practice facility by the name of Redwood Golf Center. Although situated in a mainly agricultural setting, an average of nearly 45,000 cars travel past Redwood Golf Center's front door.
Redwood Golf Center features 60 hitting stations, a practice putting and chipping green, a sand bunker, and a pro shop. 35 hitting stations are covered and have individual overhead heaters. There is a 4,000 sqft putting green with ample space for putting and chipping. A nearby sand bunker gives golfers a chance for another area of practice that is hard to find at a driving range. The entire site is shaped like a baseball diamond. The two wings are at about a 20 degree angle and 75 foot fencing surrounds the entire perimeter.
Redwood has made a name for itself through its teaching emphasis. With top PGA pros and apprentices giving lessons, they have been innovators when it comes to designing different programs for golfers at every skill level.
Redwood gets very high marks on its commitment to teaching and training the future of golf -- today's junior golfers. During the summer months, Redwood Golf Center hosts several junior golf camps.
Among the 2,500 golf ranges in America, Redwood Golf Center is the top 100 for the year 2000 and 2001.
